Talk…about money

Most of us know Joe Lind as our CEO.  Or “the guy from Elder”.  Here is a recent article from West Cincinnati Catholic Neighbors  (Feb 2025) and a great view of his family life.

THE LIND FAMILY:  A CINCINNATI TRADITION

For a city rooted in timeless traditions, time seems to pass on Cincinnati’s west side in the blink of an eye. At one glance, the year is 1978, and Joe Lind is strapping on his stirrups for the Elder baseball team that will go on to win the state championship. A slow blink later, and Joe and Jeannette’s three kids are playing sports for Seton and Elder. In a few brief seconds, grandkids return to the house—a happy noise that time had taken. Joe and Jeannette Lind have a Cincinnati story, one as timeless as the hum of the Roebling Bridge.

Joe and Jeannette’s relationship began on Glenway Avenue. Students at Elder and Seton, respectively, they met at Phillips Swim Club. A turn towards the river took them to Mount St. Joseph after Joe started at Cincinnati State, where they both went to college and later married at the campus’s Mater Dei Chapel. Joe and Jeannette have three children: Joseph (Erin), Dan (Stephanie), and Lauren (Chris). The couple is blessed with five grandchildren. Joe is Partner/Owner of Dinergy Wealth Management, and Jeannette works at Mercy HealthPlex Queen City and is a freelance artist.

This Cincinnati couple loves their Cincinnati teams. Their favorites include the Reds, Bengals, and Bearcats, but those three pale in comparison to whichever teams their grandkids are on. Joe and Jeannette love to hike together and have traveled to parks across the country, including Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain, Acadia, Amicalola, and Great Smoky Mountain. “We love to spend time with our kids and grandchildren,” say Joe and Jeannette. “We go on vacations, celebrate birthdays, and attend sporting events, etc. Our family is special to us, and we want to be a big part of our grandchildren’s lives.”

Their focus on family shines bright in times of adversity. As a kindergartner, Lauren suffered a serious burn injury over 47% of her body. She spent 47 straight days at Shriners Hospital and had over 15 skin graft operations. “The five of us came together as a family, and it made us stronger,” Joe and Jeannette recall. “We met many great people at Shriners Hospital, and without the great care provided by the doctors and staff, Lauren may not be here today.” The St. Teresa of Avila and Cincinnati communities came together and held a fundraiser for Lauren. The ordeal and recovery have led Lauren and the family beyond the city’s west side. “Lauren and I have been featured speakers in Boston, Atlanta, Knoxville, Cincinnati, and Grove City,” Joe proclaims proudly. “Not many dads can say they shared the stage with their daughter in front of over 950 people at the Georgia Aquarium! Lauren was the star of the show, and she speaks from her heart when telling her story.”

Lauren’s journey, along with the family’s innate kind nature, has led to a life of giving and volunteerism. Joe is the Chairman of the Elder Sports Stag and on the Elder Alumni Board. He serves on the St. Rita School for the Deaf Board and has served on boards for Shriners Hospital, Emery Federal Credit Union, Women’s Connection, and Bayley. Jeannette volunteered in the St. Teresa Youth Group Board and Picture Lady Art Program. They volunteered as a family at Shriners in the Survivors Offering Assistance in Recovery (SOAR) program, a peer support program at Shriners Hospital for Children. Joe, Joseph, and Dan are members of the Delhi Masonic Lodge #775 and the Syrian Shrine Temple, making them Masons and Shriners.

A family that began because two teens met on Glenway Avenue doesn’t seem to have moved far. Joe and Jeannette are 42-year parishioners at St. Teresa of Avila Parish, which is housed on the same street that still gives addresses to their high schools and swim club. In truth, much has happened both on that thoroughfare and beyond it, changing the Lind’s into the family they are today. The present seems much like the past, and they both provide promise for a bright and hopeful future.
