Talk…about money

If you’ve lived in Cincinnati longer than a week, someone has probably asked you “Skyline or Gold Star?”—like it’s some sort of personality test.

And then there are the die-hards who’ll say, “Forget those chains, it’s Price Hill Chili or nothing.” (We see you West Side!)

The funny thing? Everyone has a strong opinion, and none of them are really wrong. Whether your go-to is a cheese coney or a 3-way with extra hot sauce, it’s still Cincinnati chili—and at the end of the day, it works because it’s your style.

The same goes for investing.

Some folks love index funds. Others are all about dividend-paying stocks. Then there are the folks into real estate or alternative assets or actively managed portfolios. And guess what? With discipline and consistency, almost any of those approaches can work.

What doesn’t work? Jumping from Skyline to Gold Star to Price Hill Chili every other week hoping one gives you instant six-pack abs. (Spoiler: chili isn’t a fitness plan.) In investing, hopping from strategy to strategy looking for the next big win tends to lead to missed opportunities and costly mistakes.

The real secret isn’t finding the one perfect strategy. It’s about finding the one that fits your taste, your timeline, and your long-term goals—and then sticking with it.

Just like your favorite chili parlor, your investing approach should make sense to you, feel sustainable, and bring some comfort—especially when the market gets a little spicy.

So whether you’re a Skyline loyalist or a Price Hill traditionalist, the best choice is the one you can stick with, through thick and thin.

And don’t worry—there’s room for everyone at the table.
