Let\u2019s skip the marketing nonsense and talk about what you should actually<\/em>\u00a0focus on this month.<\/p>\n

  1. Re-Check Your Automatic Contributions.<\/strong>
    \nRaises hit in January. Company benefits reset. Payroll systems \u201cupdate\u201d (meaning: break). So before you do anything else, confirm your 401(k), HSA, and investment contributions are set where you want them. A five-minute review now saves a five-month headache later.<\/li>\n
  2. Review Last Year\u2019s Spending\u2014But Gently.<\/strong>
