March Madness is here\u2014the time of year when brackets get busted, Cinderella stories unfold, and emotions run high. But while the chaos is thrilling on the court, it\u2019s the last thing you want in your investment portfolio. Just like in basketball, investors fall victim to biases that can lead to poor decision-making.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Take \u201crecency bias\u201d\u2014the tendency to overvalue recent performance. Just because a team pulls off an upset doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re championship-bound, just like a hot stock doesn\u2019t guarantee long-term success. Then there\u2019s \u201cconfirmation bias\u201d, where fans (and investors) look for information that supports what they already believe.
